By using any Park Charleston service — including our parking web app, SMS parking system, or any related platform — you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

Park Charleston is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides traffic technology services to municipalities. Our services include parking management systems, traffic count analytics, and traffic management software deployed on behalf of participating cities and municipalities.

Parking fees are processed through Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. By providing payment information, you authorize Park Charleston to charge the applicable fees for your reservation. All fees are non-refundable unless the spot was incorrectly listed as available or a system error occurred.

5. SMS Services

Park Charleston uses SMS messaging for account verification and parking services.

SMS Terms: Users opt in to receive SMS messages by sending a text message (e.g., "PARK A") to a Park Charleston phone number displayed on parking signage, or by providing their phone number within the application to request a verification code. SMS messages include one-time passcodes, parking confirmations, and session reminders. Messages are strictly transactional and related to parking services. Park Charleston does not send marketing or promotional messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS messages. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opting out of SMS will disable your ability to use SMS-based parking features. You may still use the web application to make reservations.

6. Citations and Enforcement

Parking citations issued through the Park Charleston system are issued on behalf of the participating municipality. Citation disputes must be filed through the municipality's official appeals process, which is accessible through the Park Charleston platform. Park Charleston is not responsible for the outcome of citation appeals, which are determined by the municipality.

7. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Your account is tied to your phone number. If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact us immediately at support@parkcharleston.com.

8. Limitation of Liability

Park Charleston provides its services on an "as is" basis. As a nonprofit organization, Park Charleston's liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific transaction giving rise to any claim. Park Charleston is not liable for parking citations resulting from system errors, provided you report the error within 24 hours of the incident.

9. Service Availability

Park Charleston strives to maintain 24/7 service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated in advance where possible. Park Charleston is not liable for parking citations incurred during unplanned service outages.

10. Municipal Compliance

Park Charleston operates as a technology platform on behalf of participating municipalities. All parking regulations, rates, and enforcement policies are set by the applicable municipality. Users are subject to the parking laws and ordinances of the city in which they are parking.

11. Modifications to Terms

Park Charleston may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via the app or website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles.
